Hello there!
Today marks the official opening of the fringe festival. The last three days have been previews for promoters and press. We're still adjusting to our schedule. It can get grueling...carrying tubas and drums and plywood through the city for street performances. When we get there though, the enthusiasm from the people watching makes it worth the hassle.
Last night a few of us went to the Assembly Festival lounge. Basically, it's a bar exclusive to performers and tech people who are here for the fest. Once in, you're surrounded by performers and theater technicians from all over the world. Some are still in costume, some are on their way to shows. Everyone gets to know each other, shares war stories, and compares notes on shows. It kind of reminds us of the cantina scene from Star Wars. This really is an amazing and unique place to be...we're all really pumped.
I've been so busy I haven't had time for photos...but once I get some, I'll put them up.
More soon,
Pat
